Tis the season...

As Im sure it is for most, this is my favorite time of year. I love Christmas. I love everything about Christmas. This year, we are trying our hardest to not overspend and just get quality versus quantity. Last week Kurt brought home some Angel tree ornaments from his work. So we decided to go to the store and get the items on the list. As we were in the store looking at the simple items these precious little kids wanted for Christmas, I started to cry. I felt so blessed that my kids didnt have to ask for jammies, clothes, or shoes. These kids were asking for things I take for granted, things I dont consider "presents". It made me feel so grateful for all I have, for my family, for our home.

I know its a message we always hear this time of year, but we really need to remember why we truly have Christmas and the spirit we should carry with us throughout this season and into the year. Christmas is about our savior, his gift to us, and the love he has for us we should have for all man kind.

OKay, so this sounded like a talk...its not. I just felt the need to share.

Merry Christmas.

You are too cute. I felt the same way the other night Ben and I went out to dinner and they had an Angel tree there and all the kids were in need of shoes. I told Ben that it made me feel so guilty that we were spending the money on going out to dinner when we should be helping all these kids in need. Sometimes we need a little reminder like that! Love ya Becks.

Merry Christmas! This year both sets of our parents asked us to do something for someone else instead of get them more things they don't need. I picked some names off the angel tree. I feel the same way you do. I can't wait to get them some things they will cherish. I just wish I could see THEIR faces.

PS. I love Sarah McLachlan.

You are so sweet. We did a few too and it is so sad to see the things that they need and the things that they want. It does make you feel so blessed and grateful for what you have. Thanks for the reminder!

Thanks for the sweet message. It is so important to REMEMBER the real reason everyday in December as we hussle and bussle around! Hope your season isn't too crazy and that you are all healthy and happy.
